Yes, you must be a Y member at the time of registration to participate in Y Day Camp.

However, because many families enroll in overnight camp from outside of Maryland, Y membership is encouraged but not required to participate at Y Overnight Camp locations.

  2. Click the blue "CLICK TO REGISTER" link for the specific camp program you want.
  3. Select your camp weeks and click the blue register button.
  4. Complete all requested information.
  5. Checkout. If you have a promo code, you will use it at checkout. During your initial registration, you must accept a waiver stating that you agree to be charged a one-time, non-refundable, non-transferable registration fee (per camper). The fee will be added to your Y account and charged to the credit card used at the time of registration. Please Note: If you register for additional weeks at a later date, the waiver will reappear and must be accepted, but you will not be charged an additional registration fee.

Yes. Camp deposits are required to hold your child's spot in each week of camp. Deposits are per week/per camper and are non-refundable after May 15, 2025. Deposits are non-transferable and will be applied to your total camp fee. If camp is paid in full during the initial registration, a portion equal to the deposit is considered non-refundable (after May 15, 2025) and non-transferable. Not subject to discounts.

  • Y Day Camp deposits are $10
  • Puh'tok Day Camp deposits are $100
  • Puh'tok Overnight Camp deposits are $200
  • Camp Hashawha Overnight Camp deposits are $100

Payments for Y Day Camps will be automatically drafted from the payment method used at the time of registration 14 days prior to the start of the camp week.

Payments for Y Overnight Camps will be automatically drafted 30 days prior to the start of the camp week.

A complete payment schedule is included in the 2025 Camp Parent Handbook (coming soon). If the balance is not paid, the camper will not be allowed to attend and the spot may be reassigned.

A list of what to pack with your child for Y Day Camp will be available in the 2025 Camp Parent Handbook (coming soon). In general, you should plan to pack the following:

  • Backpack
  • Change of clothes
  • Hat
  • Lunch & Snacks (Y Camp Puh’tok, the Weinberg Y in Waverly, and the Y in Druid Hill serve lunch each camp day.)
  • Reusable Water Bottle
  • Swim Gear
  • Sunscreen and Bug Spray

A packing list will be provided if your child is registered for Y Overnight Camp.

Each time a camper is initially registered, an automated welcome email is sent out confirming your camp enrollment. In the Spring of 2025 (by May 1st), you'll also receive an email from our online communications portal, ePACT, with important information about camp required camp forms.

All parent communications will be sent out using this portal. To access the portal, you must use the link in the email that will be sent to you prior to the start of camp (by May 1st). It will be customized to your Y account and your camp enrollment selections.

If you don’t see the email in your inbox, please search your spam/junk/promotions folders. Contact customerservice@ymaryland.org if you need assistance. We ask that you please allow 48 business hours for resolution.

During the camp season, parents can expect to receive a camp newsletter every week with more information on themes, camp location specifics, camper shoutouts, reminders, as well as information on what to pack with your camper each day, information on pick-up/drop-off, and more.

All changes and cancellations must be made in writing and include the camper’s full name, camp location, dates of the weeks to be canceled, and the reason for the request.

Registration fees are non-refundable. Deposits are non-refundable after May 15, 2025. Registration fees and deposits are non-transferable.

  • After May 15, 2025, if a day camp week is canceled at least two weeks prior to its start date, the deposit will be forfeited and any further balance paid will be refunded. 
  • Cancellations made with less than two weeks notice will not be accepted and all fees will be non-refundable. 
  • For overnight camp, cancellation requests must be made at least 30 days in advance.

The Y closely monitors the public health environment and follows all guidelines set forth by local health departments. As such, the camp cancellation policy is subject to change.

Making ends meet can be difficult and we're here to help. If your family needs help paying for Y Camp, Y Open Doors Savings may be able to lower your cost.

Beginning January 1, 2025, families are invited to apply for Y Open Doors Savings HERE. Please apply early as funding may be limited.

We are no longer able to accept CCS vouchers for camp. We strongly encourage families who use this service to please apply for Y Open Doors. 

Discounts and promotions cannot be combined with Y Open Doors.

All Y Camp team members undergo a minimum of 30 hours of training including CPR and First Aid. All Y Camps are certified by the MD Department of Health and most camps are ACA accredited. This means we run all of our camps according to the best policies and practices in the industry. We voluntarily go through rigorous inspections by outside professionals to ensure we continue to exceed state regulations in health, safety, programming, qualifications, training, emergency management plans, and more - up to 300 standards in all!
