This past Friday, we held our annual Big Brothers Big Sisters at the Y (BBBSY) Bowl for Kids’ Sake event at the AMF Towson Lanes.

With the help of title sponsor Whiting-Turner, as well as our other great sponsors, Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT) and Bolton Partners, over $50,000 was raised by the 70 bowlers and corporate sponsors in support of our mentoring programs! This equates to 40 youth mentored for an entire year!  Lisa Cheeseboro, the Y’s Associate Executive Director of Mentoring, was thrilled with the day's results, commenting, “It’s huge! It’s really special to know that all these people care about how our youth to come out, have fun, donate and bowl. We truly appreciate everyone being there for us.”

Monday Mission Update Bowl for Kids Sake

It’s safe to say that between the laughter, bowling and pizza (and a few gutter balls), the bowlers were having a lot of fun. One Whiting-Turner employee noted that he has “worked at Whiting-Turner for two years, and this is my first time at Bowl for Kids’ Sake. I really like that the event benefits the Y because as a kid, I went to a couple of Y camps that helped me out through my childhood. Seeing this go towards providing support to youth in our community is awesome. As far as an event goes, this is about as good as it gets.”

A huge thank you to all the sponsors, bowlers, donors, volunteers and Y associates who made this year’s event possible. And a special thank you to the Y’s Executive Director of Development, Heather Dye, who coordinated the event and ensured a great experience was had by all!

There’s still time to donate! If you would like to contribute and help more young people in our community receive the support of a caring adult, please click here: fundraise.ymaryland.org/BFKS2022

Thank you.

All the best,
